Editorial Policy

Original editorial content. Guides are written for HomeRenoGuide.com. We do not copy project descriptions, cost tables, or FAQs from other websites. Related articles are linked because they sit in the same topic cluster, not to manufacture duplicate pages.

Separation of guides and deals. Renovation guides are free to read without buying anything. Vendor promotions appear in member deal areas and are marked as offers. A cost range in an article is an editorial estimate, not a sponsored price.

Sources and limitations. Where we cite a method, it is described on the page (for example, line-item kitchen percentages or roofing cost per square). We do not invent inspection findings for a specific address. If a topic requires licensed judgment — structural, electrical, mold, insurance coverage — we say so.

Corrections. If you find a factual error, contact us through the contact form. Material corrections are reflected on the page and in the last-reviewed date when we change a cost band or a safety recommendation.

Comments and conflicts. Editors do not accept payment from contractors in exchange for a favorable cost number or ranking. Product comparisons (for example vinyl vs fiberglass) describe tradeoffs; they are not paid placements unless a page is explicitly labeled as advertising.
